Legend of Solgard is an RPG-RTS hybrid where you battle tons of enemies using your army of creatures inspired by nordic mythology. The great thing is you can go it solo in your efforts through its extensive 1p campaign story mode or go online and face off against other players via exciting PvP battles.
Combat systems in Legend of Solgard are considerably more original than what you might be used to. Albeit basically your task is to combine the right line-up of monsters to protect your invocation portal. Meanwhile you'll also have to attack your enemy portal. The more monsters you place in a single column, the more powerful your creature-soldiers and their attacks are.
Each of your beasts has its own attributes and skills that you can use during battle. Some of the creatures - like dwarves- need an entire turn before beginning their attack, but it's well worth the wait as they gain a full attack point during the process. Others, like bears, attack swiftly thrash down onto your enemy directly.
Legend of Solgard is an excellent combo of good strategy and roleplaying to pique your interest. The overall energy to this plot provides you with enough of an incentive to continue playing. Not to mention its combat system which (while borrowing a few features from other genres) all in all offers up an original and fresh new take to a somewhat trite genre.
